Sunset Sherbet
Sunset Sherbet by Ria Rajan
Heir apparent to the GSC throne is Sunset Sherbet, an indica-leaning hybrid with intoxicatingly potent effects. Sunset Sherbet is an indica dominant hybrid (85% indica/15% sativa) that intensifies as you exhale.
World-renowned artist Ria Rajan lives in Bengaluru, India and works as a visual artist, designer and illustrator. Ria's Califari design for Agent Orange was chosen by the San Francisco Chronicle's Green State Design Award in 2017, which was a huge honor of course. From there Califari has gone on to further collaborate with Ria for our very first tryptic series which includes Agent Orange, Sunset Sherbet and Gelato.
Ria serves up Sunset Sherbet with a nostalgic sense of pleasure that conjures up that happy feeling we naturally get around magic hour, or a sugar cone full of old school sherbet served from a bucket or maybe a mason jar.
Users describe the Sunset Sherbet high as having an immediate jolt of uplifted cerebral energy that leaves you social and euphoric. This specialty strain suspends stress like a cool treat, the high is accompanied by a full body relaxing sensation that sets you at ease. The combination of these well-balanced effects leave you pain free in mind and body with a relaxed carefree attitude.
Due to these potent effects, this bud is ideal for treating stress, pain, and depression. These nugs are caked in a thick layer of frosty white trichomes sticky with delicious resin.
Many of the old school strains we have depicted in the Califari Strain Art Series are "Clouded in mystery" as far as their breeding stories go.... But one of the many benefits of cannabis legalization is that now we get to hear the real story from the now famous breeder about how our favorite buds were actually born. So we very much enjoy this classic origin tale from the legendary and prolific Sunset Sherbet Breeder, Sherbinski’s interview in Cannabis Now Magazine:
"Apparently Sherbinski threw a Pink Panties ((Burmese Thai x Kush Berry) x (OG Kush)) plant into Jigga’s room of Girl Scout Cookies, when they came back from a weekend trip, “All I saw was powder on the plant,” Sherbinski said. “I figured out what happened: the whole room got pollinated. That was a Pink Panties male, it wasn’t a selection from a propagation project or anything, just one we had busted open. That accident pollination ended up being the Sherbert.” In other words, Sherbinski jokingly confirmed, “Yeah, that was not a planned parenthood.” The terpene profile inspired the name Sherbert, and being from “the Sunset” a neighborhood by Ocean Beach in San Francisco, where it became “Sunset Sherbert,” an ode to all the cannabis pioneers in the Bay Area."
